About Sestrunj
Welcome to Sestrunj on Ning.com
Sestrunj is an island in the Croatian part of the Adriatic Sea. It is situated in Zadar archipelago, between Ugljan, Rivanj and Dugi Otok. It's area is 11.1 km²[1], and it has a population of 48 (as of 2001). The only settlement is also called Sestrunj and is located in the island's interior.[1] The island is partialy covered with maquis shrubland and low forests.[1] Remains of an Illyrian fort are situated on the island.
In the summer the island is a popular destination for people originally from Sestrunj but for tourists as well.

The current year round population is less than 30 people living fulltime on Sestrunj.

We are inviting all Sestrunjci to our annual celebration of ALL SAINTS / ALL SOULS day. It is to remember and pray for our dearly departed, those who we cherish and keep deep in our hearts. This gathering will give us the opportunity to acknowledge them while participating in the Holy Mass. This site is currently in protype mode. Although this site does not provide as much information as www.sestrunj.tk I thought a social network site would be a good way for anyone to share the information that they want and make it more personal. This site is more about people from Sestrunj connecting and keeping in touch.
